Mortal thoughts

Mortal thoughts

Upwards the sky is a candilabra
glowing in  countless
flickering lights

below I stand insignificant

less than a speckle of dust.
they talk to me in my solitude.
speak of eternity and infinity.
such scales beyond the
meagre clock ticks
of human mortality .
then I look at the butterfly
living its existance in a day.
to it I must look like infinity
and for a moment the seasons
of flowers and blossoms
touch me and envy my
Percieved imortality.
thinking of me as a mountain
beautiful and everlasting.
and for the same moment
I am comfortable
inside my own
fleeting lifespan.
