Poem -

Mother Earth

Mother Earth

You burned below the ground,

Slow and deliberate,

No sound,

You weaved and twisted,

BlisteredĀ splintered,

Convection,

You burnt aboveĀ the ground,

You flashed then wavered,

Eyes unstable,

Now disabled,

Blind,

I asked if you would talk to me,

You spoke without words or apostrophes,

Without intent,

I asked for your direction,

You offered your connection,

No statues or scripture,

A feeling,

Everything and nothing,

A beat a leaf a stone,

You are all encompassing yet alone,

Mother Earth,

I know you know the way,

Mute,

Do I travel north or stay?,

Mute,

Do I wait for a sign?,

Mute,

I waiver,

Wasteful,

Do I get to decide?

Who today will be my saviour?,

Yet I'm no more than a blip,

To hear my cries indulgent,

Materialistic and over fed,

Arrogant,Ā

Decent,

Non fortified,

You tear at the seams without hands,

You burn inside my heart,

Slow and deliberate,

My saviour,

My keeper,
