Mother Earth
Mother Earth
Mother Earth is full of war and disease
Many are crying out for everlasting peace
And so many live for war and disarray
The end it is all of us that has to pay
Smog and pollution chokes are cities skies
Acid rain falls in the teardrops Mother Nature cries
When will we stop the attack on Mother Earth?
Wonder will we live to witness her rebirth
There’s an ongoing battle over the blackness of oil
American soldiers stomp their boots on foreign soil
Our once beautiful oceans wash up garbage and debris
And the ever restless spirit cries out from the sea
This life seems to leave us so little to gain
Our dreams are drowning in the torrential rain
We can all just continue to bury our heads in the sand
While mankind destroys our home and native land
So many countries have missiles ready to air
Besides for themselves does anybody care
Millions continue to die from the spoils of war
The blood of the innocent washes up on distant shores
And there are the vigilantes with their guns
All signs of hope seem to have come undone
While hatred has only grown by leaps and bounds
You can seek understanding but there is none to be found
War seems to always leave an everlasting stain
But can we heal a world that is in such pain
As the human race we seemed to have lost touch
From years gone by we don’t seem to care as much
The mighty eagle is always circling in the sky
How many more innocents must finally die?
For the love of money it is considered a sin
A game the millions of poor will never win
As Mother Earth continues to slowly die
Mankind aims to rule the blue sky
A gospel choir sings the praises of God’s glory
We pray for a happy ending to this sad story
