Poem -

Mother Earth You Win

We lacerate your skin
pry it open to remove the blood
to fill the machines
that we call progress
we take your oxygen
to make the gorge
that lines our Artories
and yet you strive to give back and forgive
we pour our venom
into your veins until you cannot take any more
and yet we don't stop
and your try to strive to forgive us and give back
we drill into your very core
and fart our toxic bloom into your airways
and yet you strive and strive to give back
and then in pain you groan
and your mountains shake and your waters roll
and around us your awesome power becomes the only thing
we notice
and we become so small
so helpless
so insignificant
Earth
you win
