Mothers

Mothers

A mother loves and nurtures her child,
With tenderness care and mercy mild.
She protects and defends with her life!
No matter the foe or type of strife.

A bond unbreakable; through thick and thin!
Though hell attempts through selfish sin.
Offering counterfeit effigies to compare,
Standing in silence with a glassy stare.

Seek the warmth and calming caress,
Solace with resolve; and nothing less!
Search the world and heaven above,
Nothing's stronger than a mother's love!

Jim this is an adorable tribute to all mothers out there who carry that strong maternal instinct for their children (no matter their age)
I must ask, is that your mum in the pic? She is beautiful Jim. Truly a lovely photo. Thank you for sharing this wonderful poem today

Jim "The Lad" ....

thank you so much Gwen! yes, she once commented in her usual jest, that she was a" blooming idiot" about this pic. She was strong, yet had a great since of humor! She was my inspiration to try and " become" something in life, and to live with that since of humor about life.

Perhaps, if my mum has been treated like that by her mum, I would have had a more caring mum. But then again, my mum would never have been an artist and I would not have found my poetry. So in the end life was worth living it in this way
