Mothers should know

no one comes out to play today
I have called for Johnny but
He is not home, Ben and Holly
Sit the naughty stair and
Mothers should know
that that... is not fair
Belinda has to stay in, mourne
her great aunt Tillie... father said
apparently, she has to care
and mothers should know
that that... is not fair
the sun shines downΒ
on me alone, these empty streets
to roam alone
but mother calls...
For shopping prepare!
and mother should know
That that...is not fair!

wonderful as always Milady
Thankyou love x
I hated being dragged to the shops by my mother's cries, wandering around like zombies.
Great poetry , as always.Β Β
Thankyou...when I was a kid I hated it too...as an adult...hate it more! π x
Pinned. There's something about this poem that makes me want to read and read and read it x
I mustvbe getting old...I keep thinking back on my childhood...thanks love xx
i cannot resist, i have no choice, you make me smile:) i guess that's fair:)
Nobody never understood that nothing is ever fair... they just act like everyone else and force others to this... If they had a great power they forced it to many but the ones who didn't, forced it to their children... that's a tragedy on its own...Β
great writing... loved itΒ
A lovely piece throughly enjoyed itΒ carrying us all back to those childhood days and (smiling) that one might say is not fair
