Mother's worst nightmare

He was a beaten kid
Punched, kicked and bruised.
Locked himself in the bathroom stall.
Scrolling through his phone waiting for an answer
We thought the cat just scratched him or he burned himself on the stove.
When the knife revealed the truth it was too late to tell that this kid was going to hell
Saturday night after eating with his family he laughed and giggled but when he suddently left the table we could tell something was wrong.
He was upstairs crying, we could hear him but we didn’t bother him because we thought it was a teen phase.
Finally, he went silent.
We went upstairs and opened his bedroom door in fear because we couldn’t hear him.
He lied there with his phone just out of reach of his hand.
We picked up the phone and couldn’t believe what we saw.
