Mr. Mistle thrush

Theres a solitary song bird sitting on my hawthorn tree, it is feasting on some mistletoe and singing sweetly to me
Mr. Mistle thrush with your cream clustered freckled chest
You have caught my concentration
Were you sounding your best ?
a’chirping and a’cheeping amidst the chilly cold air
Your plumage is plumped out
Isn’t it cold up there ?
Does your fluffy fringed feathers
Make you snug as a bug in a rug ?
As you are patiently perched ready to peck on a bug
Winter is weathering thru and Spring is looming nigh
It won’t be long til’ yon yellow warm wonderful ball shines high in the sky
You will soon be looking for a Mrs. Mistle thrush to play hide and seek in my hedgerow bush
Where the two of you feathered friends will build your own nest
And with abit of luck and nature’s helping hand
Your family of Mistle thrushes will hopefully expand
You and Mrs. Mistle thrush will cradle clutches of little speckled eggs
Taking turns keeping them nice and cozy between your stick-like legs
