musical melancholy

musical melancholy

If music drowned out the pain
Couldn’t you listen to some rain
Why must you listen to the clashing and yelling
That drowns out the story they’re telling
To find comfort in the chaos and raw emotion
Songs that tell stories of melancholy and devotion
Or the feeling when you’re too sad to think
So you choose to wallow and sink
If it hurt you so awfully
The way they let you down slowly and softly
So subtle and casually cruel
Made you seem like a naive fool
Listen to a song that tells you the hardships they faced
And the people who they chased
Maybe you won’t seem so lonely
If you hear the pained cries that seem so ghostly
