My 60th Birthday

Today is my 60th birthday 

I can't believe I've come this far. 

The memories sparkling through my mind 

Like abandoned playground, 

Visible wrinkles on my face 

Reminds me of inexorable passing of time. 

All the insecurities bring too much 

I'm afraid to be such.

But I don't have to, I don't need to 

I just dance and be merry. 

For now I feel a bit weary, but it's only temporary. 

Soon I will be eating fresh blueberries,

raspberries,  blackberries and drinking a glass of sherry. 

My long wanted Canary singing in the cage 

I will be your huckleberry. 

I've got the edge 

Lots of advantages 

No one will take it for granted 

If I only see the brighter side of it 

Later , I will read the early  morning newspaper 

Rejoicing my retirement 

While others are still working hard for it 

Blessed to be @ 60 ;  it doesn't give me apoplexy.
