Poem -

My Angel in the Sky

I remember when tiny feet
would scurry across the cold tile floors
I miss that.
I remember when gentle little handsĀ
would slide across walls and doors
I miss that.

Beautiful long eye lashes thatĀ
would flutter with life
Now laying lifeless on eyes
cold as ice.

Gentle whispers and kisses goodnight
Ringlet curls tucked away nice and tight

Pink frilly dresses and small purple purses
once filled the closet that now has no purpose

December 14th with Christmas so near
In 2012 became a day full of fear.

You walked into that school where
children felt secure

And took away lives-so innocent, so pure

And everyday when hatred creeps in
I remember my savior died for our sin

And now when I think of my Angel in the sky
I can almost hear her say "momma, don't cry"

I'll see her again, of this I am sure
But for now here on earth
I will simply endure
