MY BEST FRIEND THE TRAMP

MY BEST FRIEND THE TRAMP

" Can you spare any change ? " the tramps do say
When they do most of us look the other way
However as this tramp approached me on Barrack Street
Fate had brought us together and that our paths should meet

The tramp was my best school friend from years ago
We drifted apart as we got older just so you know
The tramp has a name and it is Billy Brown
His claim to fame is sleeping rough in every town

Billy Billy what has happened to you
How did you finish up like this for I haven't a clue
Billy I nearly cried when I saw you the other day
It's not fair that you have ended up this way
