My brain

My brain

My brain, my brain, my brain…
Soaked in blood red pain, absorbing every ounce of bad like a slice of multigrain bread
DRENCHED

My brain, my brain, my brain…
Trapped within a web of lies,
believing every single word said like a fire alarm
TRICKED

My brain, my brain, my brain…
Freed from their abusive hands,
afraid to think for myself like a hostage to the masked man
SCARED

That was then, this is NOW… all of the pain lives in the past tense, my future a gift if I keep working hard in the present.

My brain, my brain, my brain…
Restored from all of thee above,
I can control what it is I want like everyone else the choice is mine
CHANGE

With warmth from love I dried the bread and then rang out all that remained from the past, with newfound patience I untangled every single web and told the man in the mask to go to hell because I’m no longer afraid!!!

My brain, my brain, my brain…
