My Bucket, His Bones
Gleaming metallic scents pierce the air
the smell, a vibration from the bell
ringing in my ear.
In a boat gently rowing,Ā
a tear glides down your face
and I am there wading in your rivers
in silence with your bones.Ā
I place spheres of crystalized waters on your tongue
you taste sulfur from the well
and still it collects in dropletsĀ
rolling down your throat.
We are waiting in the desertĀ
starve, thirst
we thought we'd turn to dust.
Then he comes
cleanly slicing through space and time
sharper than any two edged sword
as long as he is with us we will breathe.
Thoughts take shape like we do
I am riding and writing on the back of a Raven's wings.
I will love you in this formĀ
and with no eyes, no teeth, no nose either.
I am the sphere of ice in your mouth
You brave my cold and hold me till warmer waters come.
I burst from volcanoesĀ
I spit from the sky
my love, my bucket
you catch me
carefully you balance me.
The fall felt infinite and frightening
I ripple within you, cleansing your bones.
I'll hold you, I'll rock you in my sea.
I am nothing and you are me.Ā
