Poem -

she lies naked

she lies naked

Born by the side of the river,

Grown up by the side of the river,

You moved away, leaving me alone!

Turning up once in a year,

Playing with me for a while,

Leaving me in lurch,

I waited for the next meet!

You’ve turned up once in two years now,

Making me more and more thoughtful,

Never with the enthusiasm you had,

Nor telling stories I’s eager to hear!

You’ve come now once in a decade,

Showing no interest in me whatsoever,

Never embracing me hard ,

Treating just as a stranger!

Here you’ve come again,

As old as you could be;

Unable to move on your own

Uttering words I only understood!

You’re my childhood friend,

Every time you came, I was naked

And I never felt shy!

You’ve come again finally,

Wrapped in garlands,

Carried by people

To be burnt naked

By my side where I flow

To quicken our journey together

To a shore we’ve never seen before!
