Oh beautiful charismatic Christmas tree,you bring such joy to me
I have lovingly adorned your branches, as thoughtfully as could be
I have created an art of sheer pleasure,
displayed so prominently in my room
You instantly brighten up my thoughts, whilst deafening winters gloom
Smothered in festive colours, mixtures of gold, red and green
A multitude of familiar decorations from the foreign places I have been
Many shiney symmetric baubles, complete with pretty candle lights
I am dazzled by your charmfulness, you have brought me sheer delights
Forty three years of my collective nostalgia, I’ve added thru and thru
So annually I can reminisce, my marvellous memorabilia all thanks to you
How thankful you must be, my gracious angel perched up above
And may I show my appreciation, you have blessed my tree with heavenly love….

For my late mum took me and my younger brother into the front room and there stood a fully decorated Christmas tree the first time we ever saw one in the house and we were gobsmacked and just when we thought it couldn't get any better or more magical, it did, our mum turned its lights on!
