My Chrons & Me

Written for a very good friend - Steph, who is battling with this disease & not complained one day

I feel dizzy and sick
And just want to sleep
I feel achy all over
From my head to my feet
 
I have my ups and my downs
My moods always switch
People assume I’m just moody
Or an ignorant bitch
 
But ask yourself this
Could you smile all day?
If you had Chron’s disease
Wasting your insides away
 
Everyday your fighting
Fighting for your life
Surgery after surgery
Repeatedly under the knife
 
You can’t do normal things
or run around with your little girl
the Chron’s controls what you do
it’s the ruler in your world
 
you miss months of your life
in a hospital bed
you have to take tablets
for the thoughts in your head
 
you go skinny and fat
then can’t eat
you have to diet and eat right
and have minimal treats
 
you can’t go out clubbing
or drinking with friends
this list of what nots
just never ends
 
but I am a fighter
and will keep fighting everyday
if I never had chrons disease
I wouldn’t be who I am today.
