My Family

My Family

This is for my friends.
Some old, some new.
Where ever you are.
What ever you do.

Thanks for being there.
When I wouldn't do the math.
For showing understanding.
When I took the wrong path.

I sit in wonder.
First time for a while.
There's even a danger.
Of me keeping this smile.

For now think back.
To what we achieved.
Of the people we helped.
When they broke at the seams.

The pride we can feel.
In what we all do.
Combined together.
With the warriors in blue.

The summers nearly over.
But try not to be glum.
We'll be back together.
When winter is done.

Thankyou. Was just something I penned at the end of the Festival season this year. For all my friends that work in and around welfare and mental health support in the music festival scene.

You are there.
Arms tight around me.
Your eyes, they stare.
