My feathered friend ❤️
“Hello little birdie and how are you today?”
A red Robin stares back at me in an inquisitive way
So I cautiously creep closer and I whisper as I say..
“If I told you my little secret, would that be okay?”
Well you probably will think that I am telling you porky pies
But I would never pull your leg or tell you any stupid lies
Yet what I witnessed next was such a wonderful surprise
I honestly thought that I was dreaming, so I blinked and blinked my eyes
My little feathered friend tweeted, and shook his tiny head
Then he puffed his chubby chest out, where it was all rosy red
I just stood absolutely flabbergasted, when he looked at me and said..
“Chirpy..chirpy..tweet..tweet..please can I have a little bit of bread!!!”

Love the humour in this piece Jill. I have a Robin that sits in my garden each day. I read once that they are quite territorial birds. Like swans are with lakes, Robins are with gardens. Apparently you don’t get many other birds if the Robin keeps calling. How true that is I don’t know. To me they look so pretty with their red chests. Thanks for the thoughts this morning and the smile 😊 x
