My Flinching Soul

I’m a grey photo, a shred of color. My love, my drastic pledge:
My love, an unsung dream. And heart to God, my flinching
Soul; and light to flame, my tattered reed. And unto dusk, the
Prayer of love: and unto dawn, prosaic vows. But star to dust,
I’m courting dreams; and cloud to sky, the portrait screams.
Thus the vision, sorely done; and thus the heart, sphinxly won.
And etched in stone, the streams of love, fraught with myth,
And prayers above.
Thus the photo, infused with light; and thus the soul, flaming
Bright. And death to life, my sacred pledge; and life to death,
Beyond the dead. My flinching soul, the angel’s strife, fraught
With tears, and christic sight. Thus we flourish, serenic flame;
And thus we love, a mystic frame. And light to God, the truth
Has come, akin to light, and cryptic drums.  Â
