My Friend, My Wife, My Dear

My Friend, My Wife, My Dear
There was this really old couple,
Very much in love for years.
I don’t recall a single time,
When he didn’t call her Dear.
They went everywhere together,
He would always hold her hand.
Their favorite place was at the beach,
Walking barefoot in the sand.
Spending all their time together,
Nothing mattered but his wife.
He wouldn’t trade her for one thing,
Because she was his whole life.
Then they got the news one day,
She didn’t have long to live.
He said if God takes her from me,
I have nothing left to give.
As time went on he lost his will,
He said God please take me out of here,
So I can be with her again,
My friend, my wife, my Dear.

I wrote this poem about an old couple I knew in Georgia. Very loving couple. They both passed away in 2001. Miss them

Hello Donald...
I read this several times...
It was difficult for me to say anything because, I needed time...
This is still very difficult and I'm pushing myself through this for a couple of reasons...
After several years of My Grandmother's passing at the age of 42 it took My Grandfather to fall in love again...
After he passed away his Girlfriend was in love with him so much and she wasn't much older than I am now, and her heart was so broken when he died that she told all the Children who were in the house she was going to let down...
A couple of hours passed and no one could wake her up...
To not just find that kind of love, but also to be loved like that...
They left behind a Total of 8 Children 18 years and under...
Very Beautiful and Sad write!
Thank you for sharing!
Hugs...

your story sounds sadder than mine. Thank you for sharing that with me. And thank you for taking the time to comment on mine. Hugs
