Poem -

My graduate, my little boy

Today we call them graduates

This title came too fast

I will cherish every minute

And make this moment last

Speeches will be given

They'll quote the golden rule

They'll talk about the future

and saying goodbye to their high school

But I hope he will remember

The small things that I said

Like don't forget to say a prayer

Before you go to bed

Please be kind to all you meet

And keep an open heart

Always stay true to you

I taught you from the start

The world is yours

Each days a gift

All doors are open wide

Take a breathe and look around

Before you go inside

Never judge an open book

And always try to be

Someone who can lend a hand

And be good company

You may not always listen

But always try to hear

When a friend is telling you

They just might need you near

I think I taught you how to fly

And when to spread your wings

But remember where you came from

And enjoy the little things

Although my heart is heavy

This tear drop comes from joy

I couldn't be more proud to say

You are my little boy
