Poem -

my heart in a cell

my heart in a cell

"my heart in a cell"

my heart is my prison,
Β Β Β and I'm doing life.
chained to the memories,
Β Β Β of loving my wife.
no chance for parole,
Β Β Β only hope is reprieve.
I'm locked in emotion,
Β Β Β and ill never leave.
the sun never shines,
Β Β Β when I'm locked in my cell.
as i stare out the window,
Β Β Β into the memories i dwell.
your smile is all,
Β Β Β that carries me thru.
the days are as long,
Β Β Β as my memories of you.
when i see you again,
Β Β Β in the heavens above.
i will be free of this prison,
Β Β Β this prison called love.
