" MY HEART " (a prayer)

Most gentle and Loving God, grant me rest
In you, and your most humble hostel
Where the weary and those in pain
May take comfort
For you, above all creatures
Above all health and beauty
Above all honor and glory
Above all gifts and favors
O Lord, my God
You are over and above ALL things
And whatever you give me (other than yourself)
Whatever you reveal or promise me
Is much too little
   ~unless~
Unless I see you and fully possess you
My heart cannot find its healing rest
Nor be perfectly happy
   ~unless~
Unless it elevates my heart
Above all gifts and creatures
And rests as a Lotus
In You.....

I often complain and bear my uneasiness
With a sad or angry heart
I beg of you O Lord
Allow the cry of my heart
And the many set-backs
I suffer on this Earth
Find a favorable hearing
With You......
