MY HEART WANTS TO BE LOVED

My heart wants to reach out to a man

but it is so damaged I don’t know if I can

I’ve been cheated on beaten up and stolen from

I don’t really know if I can move on

I want so much to be embraced by strong arms

then I think to myself are they going to harm

I want so much for a passionate kiss

am I just so damaged I am going to miss

I desire to be loved for the rest of my life

but is there going to be trouble and strife

I don’t want to feel all this fear

I just want to be held close so near.
