MY HUMANITY........ MY MORALITY ....MY ETHICS

I do not want to be on a pedestal
I am only human after all
I do not wish to be unique
I only want to stand tall

An honest man I wish to be
With lots of love and sympathy
I hope to have an open
And understanding mind
That measures another fairly
For humanity is all about variety

It will not be easy
To love unconditionally
To favour my enemies
Or turn the other cheek
I am like any ordinary citizen
In which emotions can run amok

I do not wish to be perfect
It requires too much energy
I don’t want to be famous
Or live a lie
Just seeing one day turn into another
Is good enough for me

I want to acquire many memories
With experiences aplenty
I hope I will become knowledgeable
Not just through reading books
The world is my oyster
All I need to do is look

I hope I will make a few friends
Who enjoy my amiable company
Who see me through thick and thin
And who regard me as their kin

An easy pace I want for me
No burdensome worries
Or unattainable fantasies
For Living I think should be fun

I hope my ethics is
Imbued with caution
Where my conclusions are unhurried
And I am aware how
I affect those around me
For no one is an island
We can never act independently

Time will tell
How successful I am
When life becomes still
I hope memories of me
Will bring a smile
To those who remember me
