My Last Goodbye

If there is one thing in this world that hurts me so deep
Is saying my last goodbye as you now enter your sleep
A long wonderful life so full of memories of you
Most were great, some were good, and few were bad too
I'm your grandchild by birth but to you, I'm your son
The greatest of all mother's, you are number one
So loving in your ways and so beautiful thus far
I never could describe the amazing woman that you are
Like the night blue skies were the color of your eyes
Devotion to your kids was the reason you would rise
Rise every morning to give us the best you could give
There's not a life I would trade for the one you gave to live
I will miss your gentle touch and your nurturing love
I'll even miss your scolding words, there could never be enough
Looking down on the ground as my eyes fill with tears
Tracing back more and more all those precious years
Mom thank you so much for all that you've given me
I will cherish every moment every day that I see
So when you look from above as we sleep all the while
