Would you hop upon my windowsill from our Cherry tree?
I shall sit here as quiet as a mouse and listen attentively
And when you want to fly away just spread your feathered wings and flee..
Though I know not what you speak of I know that it is love
I hear such pleasure in your singing from yon bowed branch up above
Are you an angel in the sky? just like a heavenly dove
Your cheerful chirping is so beautiful and something I think the world of...

I have to laugh here Jill, the Mockingbird is the state bird of Texas, they are everywhere. One night this one sang all night, then all night the next night, just kept me awake! They usually don't sing at night! now I didn't hurt him, but I had to run him off! lol! If they are angels, some of them need to keep better hours! lol! love them Mocking birds! great write! pinned for Texas! ..............................lad

Awww & you are so darn kind to me my lovely Cherie Thank you always 💕💕💕
Jealous... only Galas and Sulphur Crested Major Michell`s here, which screech like pre-historic horrors. They rip the bark of the trees too because there so intelligent they get bored... I`d take a mockingbird over that any day of the week...

The Mocking bird imitates every bird and it's song changes like every thirty seconds and is loud and distinct ! It is beautiful and love it! just not at night ! lol!....they are very territorial and run off most other birds ! even will attack cats to protect the shrub it usually builds it's nest in. kind of like Texans! lol!..............Jim
