I let you in once again, because for some reason I can't seem to let go of you. You hurt me, once again. I knew deep down you would, but somehow the feeling of letting you go felt like knives carving into my fragile bones, scraping across my unprotected heart, slowly digging deeper and deeper into my soul. My love for you never faded, well yours never seemed real. My trust in you was like an everlasting rose, always there and never broken, yet you tore the pedals off like they meant nothing to you. Maybe you didn't know what you were doing, but can't you see I'm better off without you? The pain you bring isn't worth the pain that always somehow drags me back to those darker days.But time and time again, I let you in...

Its actually about her dad not her mom. Family is supposed to be the ones you put all of your trust in and all your love in, not the once you should have your guards up for because you've been hurt to much, I really wanted to capture that pain using the everyladting rose. There's no physical harm to the girl, but the mental harm is so much it feels like knifes cutting into her and I really wanted to show that in this poem.
