My Magical Memory 🧚‍♀️

My Magical Memory 🧚‍♀️

At the bottom of my garden
In behind an old oak tree
I chanced upon a tiny ring of stones
So curiousty puzzled me

Whilst this arrangement appeared overnight
I had not encountered it before
Each pebble was polished prettily
Carefully placed upon the grassy floor

In the centre of the solid circle
Was a delicate daisy chain
Who an earth had been in my garden ?
I needed to ascertain

So with my zoom lens on my camera
And it’s infared for night vision
I made myself a camouflage
I was like a pioneer on a mission

Two nights I camped out in my hidey hole
My canvas was covered in leafy green
It was a spectacular sneaky den
Surely the best I have ever seen

To my utter astonishment
After I heard the church clock strike two
In the early hours after midnight
Before the onset of morning dew

An amazing flutter of tiny wings
Materialized from every direction
Dazzling small silhoutes
In a frenzied photgraphed perfection

Tho my eyes and mind could not comprehend
This array of folklore that I did espy
I knew my camera was clicking frantically
A photograph shall tell no lie ?

A gathering of gaiety
Perhaps organising a fairy ball?
I counted thirteen small, sparkling sprites
My zoom lens enlarged their small

So I watched this delight in detail
Tho  I never dared to say a word
In the twighlight of the dusky dawn
Only whimsical whispers could be heard

Not words of recognition
Of which I understood
As I strained my senses to listen
With my head underneath my green hood

Flickering halos of miniscule beings in a fantastic fictional flight
Shining all aglow in the darkness of the night

Such a priviledged eminence
It was not simply my imagination
Tho my results from my camera’s evidence
Mask merely a monotonous blank creation
