My Momma

My momma used to always say, "Screw your principles!"
To which I'd always say, "I will, if'n they'll have me!"
Because in my day and age
a male could simply
not get laid
and pity that lad thrice
if'n he's a sage
Because all
the good ones wanted
were those boys
so often haunted
by that phantom
I call Stupid
or sometimes simply
Dumb as Dirt
But I'll always forgive them
Because one day
you just might find one
down and out
and just so happens
she be looking
for dessert
And you know
I'm all always ready
like a Skinny Puppy teddy
because even
down and out
they sure look fine!!!
But getting back to Momma
and despite
my lifelong trauma
with the ladies,
she's the one
that I loved first
So if like me
you're lacking
that which eases
hearts romantic
just remember
what's important
and thank God
for prostitutes!!!
And don't you dare
forget yo' momma
as she brought you
into being
And please do
praise Great God Almighty
as It's the Only Thing
by which
True Life
doth constitutes

I really appreciate you, Cosmofunnel, and so does Shokya Candalla, for saving those poems for me. I've recently closed a big chapter of my life I like to call The Homeless State. You see, I'd arrived in Austin the first month of double-aught 9, homeless, but safe in my thousand acre woods. Blessed I was to stumble into Thom Moon 10, aka Thom Woodruff, aka Thom the World Poet, an Aussie that came to America in the hippy days, adopted Austin as his home town, then commenced to finding venues for other poets, artists, and musicians to perform for free for all to see. I.e. the open mic.
I'd remain homeless for almost 13 years, but always located at the same piece of land in my 1000 Acre Wood.
Anyhow, the poems I posted on Cosmo were posted 'bout 5 years into my homeless state, which was about the same time Austin got anal, and the open mics went goodbye. The elements got the rest of my work, which is why I'm grateful to y'all, and I say thank ya, big big.
But I found a home, and the open mic is back. Thom Moon 10's still kicking it live, and I still feel like things are just getting started.
Thanks for reading. Now I gotta go apply for Medicaid, alright!
