My Old Mirror 💕

My Old Mirror 💕

Remembering my reflection, It wasn’t THAT long ago

There wasn’t any wrinkles then, and my old mirror didn’t lie you know

Youth was on my side, 
it doesn’t seem THAT long ago

Yet that was before I’d had my kids, and my old mirror has watched them grow

My hair was a different colour back then, won’t my old mirror think it is strange?

This person staring back at it looks familiar, yet there is a subtle change

I have gazed into THAT old mirror for over forty three years

Alas it’s ‘Water under the bridge’ now,  but it’s shared both my laughter and tears

So my old mirror I thank you from the bottom of my heart, whilst I dread the day and woe betide the time..when we have to part…
