My Smile

People don't make me smile so much,

but do you know why? 

Do you know that I am scared of love,

scared to give anyone else a try..?

I wake up to your good morning, 

and it makes my day...

I always tell you sweet dreams,

Hoping you won't forget to look my way...

I just wanted someone who cared, 

and I got hurt really bad...

I just got scared, 

and leaving took everything I had...

In a world where I was invisible,

and blind to my life...

Someone took a heart so full,

and destroyed it inside...

Now I just try to find myself,

and forget the pain once known... 

That part of my life was hell,

now I want a heaven of my own...

Do you know why I have scars, 

the ones I look at when I'm sad...

Because these memories were ours;

but the one who caused them,

didn't think they were bad...

Someone so cruel and empty,

got my heart from its tower...

They said they loved me,

but really it was all pain and power...

I felt a heart ache no one deserves,

an emptiness inside...

Someone who had such a thirst,

to watch me slowly die...

So when I walked away,

and decided I was free...

I just wanted to say;

that even though he tried,

he can never take my smile from me.
