My son and his boat

Hidden expenses

My son and his boat

From the start of life,
I helped make my sons vessel.
To carry him through life,
Into a bigger one now,
As his old one,
Ā is now too small...
it’s scary really!
He’s just 13,
But nearly 6 ft tall.
So for his birthday in October,
This past fall,
I bought him a boat,
Then at Christmas,
A mount ā€˜n' motor too.
Waiting for the summer and the right weather to choose.
So the other day,
When the boys were at their mums,
I thought I’d set it up,
And store it down by the river,
Around one of my friends.Ā
We open the motor,
To find there’s no battery,
Just connector ends.
So I bought a marine one,
For £85,
To get it home and charge,
But how?
As we had no means.
So we bought a new charger,
For a further sixty pound notes,
To find out it needs a case of all things.
We are now fully set,
But the weather been stormy and windy,
So we’ve not even managed to test the boat yet.
We’ll get there though,
You’ll be sure to hear of it!
