My Tatty Teddy Bear?

My teddy bear is cuddly 
My teddy bear is cute
He sits upon my dressing table in his birthday suit
But his coat is thick and furry so he won’t feel the cold but I bet that bald patch on his paw will coz he is really old

My Brother bought him in a shop when I was only three, he wrapped him up in Christmas paper and gifted him to me
So my teddy bear is very special, he has been with me thru thick and thin
This tattered ted has been in my Mother’s washing machine after I rescued him from the bin

You see my sister’s rough haired Jack Russell terrier saw my bear propped up nice and steady and it cocked it’s left hind leg up and peed all over my teddy
Well of course my sister threw him in our outside dustbin thinking I wouldn’t find out but I needed him for my bedtime so she was wrong and got a clout

Mind you my Mammy tucked him nice and snug inside a pink fluffy pillow case and I watched him spinning around and around inside that place, I don’t think he liked the suds on his face
Then I looked up at him on Mammies washing line and I stood there on a windy day and told him he was absolutely fine and he would be okay

Nowadays my tatty teddy bear just sits waiting for me each and every day and I only say “Good morning” and “Goodnight” then I am gone away
But too many moons have passed us by and we are both getting old
Yet we will stay together until the day I die to have and to hold
