My Teenage Friend

My Teenage Friend

I get a call from an old friend.
Who only comes out when I'm empty and dead.

Forgive me father, for I have sinned
I've refused the same body you gave me, and also scarred it within.

I stare at the object that's claimed many lives. Β
That's shattered families,
made slaves of all ages,Β
and several enemies
Millions of timesΒ

It gives a kiss,
cold to the bone.
Makes your skin cry red.
Begs you to die instead

Helps me forget and focus solely on physical painΒ
But it's never worth itΒ
Because the endings the same
Β
