Poem -

My unsent text

My unsent text

You almost broke me.
Completely and utterly destroyed
I tried so hard to be there for you so that you wouldn't leave
But it was never enough
You blamed me for your mistakes and mishaps
Everything bad that happened was somehow my fault
Sometimes I wish I never met you
because maybe then I would actually know how it feels
to be truly loved by someone
not the concept you made me believe
But I forgive you
Because without you,
I wouldn’t be the person I am today
And for that;
I am grateful

Great work!

I returned to read your poem again. I think I was really tired the first time I read it. You did a great recreating a story that was unfolding yet, was never sent.

Favorite part

I wouldn’t be the person I am today
And for that;
I am grateful

The beginning of the poem showcases a person on the brink of a really bad breakup, then at the end, there is a sense of closure -- letting yourself -- let go, to heal and to love again.

Hello MORGAN!!
I could feel within poetic expression here.......... a truly moving sense of anger and comparable sadness at the whole loss of the relationship itself!!...... You have managed to incorporate the tragedy felt right along with a sense of hope for the future...... by including a VERY powerful feeling of forgiveness you have touched me (as a reader) with a fine sense of who YOU are as a person......NOT an easy thing to do.... you have accomplished something VERY difficult to do here dear poet sister!! .......ALL STARS!!...... well done!!..........LOVE and ROCKETS!!.........I am your newest cyber-friend and admirer!!........T xo           : )
