My Very Own Greek Philosophy

My Very Own Greek Philosophy

There was a time in my life
that I smashed every single dinner plate
in my loveless kitchen
for the bad love I was receiving
the palpitations of grief
never knowing what I ever didĀ
to deserve such love?
I broke every last plate
and it felt really goodĀ
Ā
and now?
Ā
I'd give anything in the worldĀ
to glue those beautiful priceless platesĀ back together
serving up a warm home cooked mealĀ
For the one I love, and who loves me back
Ā
see the price for bad love
didn't come cheap
Ā
classic handmade platesĀ
don't come cheap
and neither does bad loveĀ
It's the most expensive lesson
I've ever had to learn
just to understand my own self-value
and instead of thinking about
what a waste of time and money
Ā
I have instead come to learn
that it's the greatest investmentĀ
I could have ever made
because, now I know love’s true value
Ā
everyone deserves real love
that's simply, unlimited, endless
and without bounds.
Ā

It's also worth noting the fuller spectrum of human emotion in this piece, doesn't go unnoticed.Ā

Thank you dear Rory I believe there are two sides to love and I've seen them both for myself the poem I posted prior to this one was the first half. I'm thrilled you have enjoyed this so much, and that you trust me and are relaxed enough to come by and leave your genuine thoughts. That means a lot my friend. Thank you.Ā

Some say we can't have dark without light... good without bad ... kind without cruel etc... sometimes the worst is experienced so we recognise the best. That's what this poem says to me. Personally I think we should all be able to skip straight to the good Shirley. Also agree with Rory... a vast range of emotions in this ...excellent... hugs X
