My wonderful woodland walk

As I walked thru the woodlands I was stopped on my tracks watching children on horseback trotting in twosomes on their morning hacks
So I wandered on and on where the copse was very clear and as I marvelled at the old oak trees along bounded three Roe Deers
Each little leggy picture of perfection followed in line towards the riverside direction

Colourful Cock Pheasants scattered here and there, amorous courtship displays for the Hen Pheasants who were very well aware
How on earth could they not notice these brazen, beautiful boy birds when the calling of the crowing was loud and absurd 
I lost count of the collection of various feathered friends that I saw 
Chaffinch, Blue tits, Woodpeckers, Tree Warblers and more
It was such an Ornithologists delight, birds sweetly singing amidst the greenery of my canopy up a height

I sat below an ancient gnarled 
Yew tree soaking up my senses so sensationally
I sneezed from the smell of so many mixtures of Mother nature as I tried my hand at creating an Artist’s protraiture
My effort wasn’t brilliant to say the least but the canvas was covered in a fantastic forest feast 
My wonderful woodland spiritual stroll wth it’s ethereal enthusiasm fulfilled my soul
