Nature of Man

Beware!
The coming of the Dark!
Consuming without a care,
Despair it's mark!

Slowly, with the fading of the sun,
Creeping forth, covering the light,
Banishing all good just begun,
Darkness eats away the right!

Soft silky silhouette scraping,
Seeping over consciousness...encompassing.
Lightly touching, but fully covering
Its heart of darkness...overpowering!

Hope fled before, shrouding night,
Absence of remorse, feeding its appetite.
Seeking dominance over the Light,
Greedily gorges on sadistic delight.

Icy grip on heart palpitation,
Seeking till saited on power.
Easily hidden with false intention,
In darkened corners too plot and glower.

In man its father from start,
Fostered secretly within immortal soul,
Locked within darkness of heart,
Symbiosis beneficial most abhorrently foul.

On the surface, goodness shines out,
Deceiving all of the secret darkness,
Brewing, boiling, building, in hate without a doubt,
Till eventual truth is highlighted in starkness.
