The Nature Of Man ?

Studying the characteristics of mankind

It is an illogical species that you find

Even though recording so much history

So many mistakes are made repeatedly.

Not willing to learn from truths of the past

Creates doubt anything is meant to last

Conflict to conflict, with so much destruction

 A lot of energy is wasted on reconstruction.

If man managed to live a peaceful existence

If creativity and progress were of the essence

Wouldn't it have achieved that much more ?

Instead of dealing with consequences of war.

Will there ever be a time of total cooperation ?

Or is mankind resigned to eventual damnation ?

Is it our nature to always behave the same way ?

Can man fulfil its potential before judgement day ?
