" NATURE & THE FACE OF GOD "

When we think of nature we have a distinct, almost poetical sense in mind
We mean the integrity of impression, made by the natural objects we find
It's this that distinguishes the slice of timber of the wood cutter, from the tree of the poet
This God-given ability to interpret beauty, to hold it, to caress it, and then learn to show it
Nature never wears a mean appearance, nor does the wisest man extort all her secrets
We also never seem to lose curiosity in discovering all of her perfections
The butterfly, the animals, the rivers, all lead to peaceful reflections
So that when we speak of nature we all seem to share such perfect impressions
Truthfully speaking, few actually SEE nature, most people don't notice the sun
The sun only illuminates the eye of a man, but shines in the heart of a child, begun
The lover of nature is he who has retained the spirit of our infancy
When everything seemed so new to us, and we rolled and frolicked in its mystery
I have enjoyed a divine exhilaration, I am almost afraid to show how glad I am
That in the quiet of my illness, I have lost social encounters, but come to understand
That when I look at nature, I am not only perceiving beauty, I see that I'm a fraud
Thinking that I'm a poet or true perceiver, when I'm actually seeing the face of God...

Hello Tony...
Have you ever looked at a bugs eye?
Have you ever seen a bug smile?
Have you ever let them tickle your hand?
They are always at work or at play...
They don't like to be held too long...
Some have wings some have legs some have nothing at all...
Nature is the face and hand of God?
Beautiful peaceful write!
Thank you for sharing...

Hi Tony A beautiful write nature is
surly something to behold and you are
so good at writing about it, such a depth of feeling
in this poem of of what is all around us some poignant lines that
touches your heart these two I loved
"It's this that distinguishes the slice of timber of the wood cutter, from the tree of the poet
This God-given ability to interpret beauty, to hold it, to caress it, and then learn to show it"
"That when I look at nature, I am not only perceiving beauty, I see that I'm a fraud
Thinking that I'm a poet or true perceiver, when I'm actually seeing the face of God..."

COOL DEBS!!....you picked out my favorite line with the woodcutter......it took me some time to get that line just exactly where I wanted it to be.......doesn't happen often but that line just had to hacked out of the wood itself!! (lol).........thanx for being so cool......sorry It took me so long to respond to this,.........your friend and admirer.......T xo
brilliant articulation T, hope all is well with you....very subtle and dare I say intimate approach you take on the subject of nature, capturing a rich tone of reverence with conversational language, these lines are mesmerizing to me,
'Nature never wears a mean appearance, nor does the wisest man extort all her secrets
We also never seem to lose curiosity in discovering all of her perfections...'
as a boy I used to sit on the banister in the late afternoon watching the light of the day vanish into twilight, in the tropics nature is unique but stays relatively the same all year, but there is something cool and rich about the vision of nature you give the reader; it captures the attention and sparks wonder, like the subtle features of a beautiful woman....superb write, and pretty inspiring philosophy as well, thanks for posting this, bro... enjoyed....cheers for the day
'The lover of nature is he who has retained the spirit of our infancy
When everything seemed so new to us, and we rolled and frolicked in its mystery...'
Thanx CHRIS MAN!!....I used to do the same thing in Germany when I was a boy......but at the edge of the forest.......thick-ass forests in Germany.......the difference was that we'd get ALL the seasons and WINTER was filled with tons of snow.......but the twilight was spectacular no matter the season.........thanx for reading and sharing brother!!.......you-B-DA-bomb!!......smiles......T xo
