Poem -

Nature's Joy

Sparrows sing the world awake

as morning calls those still wrapped

in sleep, refusing to allow dreams

to escape,

or slay twilight till it's mute.

These featheredĀ harbingers of day

who trust earth to quench their thirst

and sate the emptiness

of night's long dark fast.

They watch from trees above

as lifeĀ emerges humming in concert.

They who crawl, fly, bloom,

who walk, sing, breathe,

and dance on pastel wings.

It is her task to set in motion

that which causes day its worth.

Each ray that washes over all

that lies beneath the sky

and bids the sparrow's sweetest song.
