Nature's Way

Once healthy fat,
Now malnutrition and thin,
When I mistakenly left the path,
Finding the woods to be my only friend.
All faith in hope,
Securely intact,
That I could find my way or be rescued,
Not one to wait but rather quickly react.
Get to them,
Instead of rotting before they get to me,
Further damming the situation,
More lost but in truth unknowing I've just been set free.
Rid of the pollutants,
That I breath,
And the unnatural food forced into the body,
No longer being subjected to the crime and hate of the city.
Dreaming beneath the stars at night,
Giving myself to earth by day,
I begin to see true beauty,
Realizing from a standpoint this is nature's way.
Deprived of social and emotional human reaction,
Giving into the madness, relief of fear,
Without notice of the sickness that has befallen me,
Sounds of wilderness fills the ears its all I can hear.
I grow mad with hunger,
Time and days of the week a forgotten thing,
Never versed or too interested,
In the idea of foraging.
It is the simple things now,
That I have always taken for granted,
These resources key to what makes life real,
In the desperate need of look where I have landed.
Wandering the woods lost and sick,
All hope lost of ever seeing a day,
Back in my old life with loved ones,
I beg earth's arms embrace me because this is nature's way.
