Negative Pride

Holding your head up high,

Arrogance is ready to fight.

Challenging an enemy with honor,

Determined to win a pointless battle.

A proud stance duels until the end,

As egotism leads to a lost cause.

Poison of vanity leads to catastrophe,

When defeat causes many predicaments.

The negative pride must be put aside,

By letting the ego accept humility.

This is so true. Pride is dangerous. Pride goeth before destruction...andΒ a haughty spiritΒ before a fall. I believe the human race, in totality, can use a prescription for humbling ourselves before the Lord. Great job in putting this lesson to poem! Thanks for pointing out a valuable lesson.Β Β Β  Best WishesΒ Β Β Β Β Β  Paula
