A New Beginning

~~The pain within me
Was not something to laugh at in glee
Of all the days in the past year
I have never shed this many a tear

The New Year arrives
New beginnings it derives
Smiles all around
Not even a frown

I realize I have to move on
From scary thoughts I always dwelt upon
I know it is hard
But I believe I can

Because a new year
Means a new world without fear
Without sadness, and with all people dear
