Night

Night

It sits outside your window

Staring at you

Beckoning you closer

Only you deny it

Instead, you retreat to your television

Waiting until the thing decides to call you again

You deny the urge to unlatch your window

And travel with it into the great unknown

Well, in fact, it might actually be the great unknown

After all, the great beckoning was from the night
