no greater cruelty

No greater cruelty than human cruelty

You can hear singing the blues tonight

There's no greater cruelty than human

And I'm picking them fields cotton white

For there's no greater cruelty than human

And I don't sleep so good on the floor

Is no greater cruelty assuming

I aint losin' the fight no more

-----------------------------------

For this cut black skin

Under southern sun call nigger

When you hear the beatin'

The soul ain't a sinner

-----------------------------------

My Goodness JAI MASTERS!!.......... there is so much profundity in this write I don't know where to begin.......... It's such powerful subject matter........... and you did an outstanding job of conveying the horror of it poetically........... with taste and emotional phrasing........... the repetition of "There's no greater cruelty than human..". works to add such depth of continuity, flow, and strength of intent.......... it's a brilliant write my friend.......... truly.............ALL STARS. Thank you Tony, when humans treat each

other humanely I can write a different verse

for until then we humans are sinners through

and through, nor is every one a sinner but

there's far too much prejudice in this 21st Century

and times are not changing enough; we need

leaders more than ever.

I appreciate your good commentary

and opinion on my luck to write this verse

I wish there was none to write of, no

more cruelty to speak of. Best wishes Jai :)
