NO ONE ANSWERS ME

A WHISPER IN THE DARK
I WONDER "CAN IT BE?"
SOFT AND DEEP LIKE WIND
STIRRING THROUGH THE TREES
I CALL "WHO'S THERE?"
NO ONE ANSWERS ME
A SHADOW ON THE WALL
QUIET FOOTSTEPS DOWN THE HALL
A LIGHT SCENT IN THE AIR
I CALL OUT "WHO'S THERE?"
NO ONE ANSWERS ME
A CLOSING OF A DOOR, IS IT THE ONE THAT I ADORE?
OR A TRICK OF THE MIND
PASSING NEVER ENDING TIME
YEARNING OF MY HEART, SINCE WE'VE BEEN APART
I HEAR MY NAME CALLED LOUD AND CLEAR
I HOLD MY BREATH AND PRAY YOU'RE HERE
I CALL OUT "WHO'S THERE?"
NO ONE ANSWERS ME
