Poem -

no place like home

On my way home,

getting battered and bruised,

by the wind and the rain,

which are turning my rosy cheeks blue.

How I long for the warmth and the heat from a warm mug of tea.

Slipping off my shoes and socks,

switching on the weather report on my flat screen t.v.

Comfort food at the ready,

hot tomato soup and two buttery rolls.

As the slippers go on & I am already thinking,

what will tomorrow bring on my way to work,

in this wet & windy my home town London city.

Thank you. It inspires me when fellow poets can see my vision through the words I have used. I will upload more poems before I venture into reading others. its nice to be in an environment where people can express their thoughts and feelings through the art of poems. As you must be like me where you have a paper and pen in reaching distance because I forever think in poems as I speak with words dear Maveli a wizard of rhymes & verbs,

Georgia

Hi Neville,

Thank you. It is great to see where other creatives come from when they convey their surroundings & environment in a poem.
I hope when you visit again it will be a beautiful experience and source of inspiration.
You get to see how there are similarities and differences that are viewed from the writer's eye's.  But one thing remains how poetry can connect everyone no matter who are where you are from or reside. Have a positive and creative day,

Kind regards

Georgia ✌🏿 😁 💜
